Growing up in Switzerland, ETH Zurich always came across as an esteemed, trusted brand. Unfortunately, it’s not as well recognised outside of the country, and this could be addressed. I live in New York and I always feel like I have to pitch ETH: I mention its top position in the rankings to illustrate it’s world-class, refer to some of the research coming out of it that people might know of, and explain it is decisively important for our country.
As I work on creating a global community in the events, brand and marketing space, I look to the ETH Circle for a network and best practices in community building. In addition, I am on the lookout for projects and businesses that generate profit with purpose, and have meaning. The great research coming out of ETH needs to find the market, and that’s where the ETH Circle can help. The link between Europe and the US is also critical in catalysing the brand of ETH.
If members can connect their personal and professional goals to the value the ETH Circle can deliver, then it will have an impact. It would be great to be able to measure what we do, in order to make sure that we can also set some targets against which to monitor our progress.
